Playdate with Cousin Lucy

Eliot got to meet her cousin Lucy this weekend. Eliot is too little for much playing but Lucy loved giving her little cousin kisses!

Walk with Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse

On Saturday, Becky and Jesse came over and we went on a nice walk to Harvard Square and back.

It was a little windy so Eliot wore her green fleece (hand me down from her cousin Lucy!)

Eliot had her first tour of Harvard Yard, including an obligatory tourist picture in front of the John Harvard statue.

Thanksgiving

Eliot celebrated her first Thanksgiving at her grandparents' house in Lexington. We all had an excellent turkey dinner, except Eliot who just had milk. Maybe next year Eliot will try the turkey...

Eliot and Toys

In the past couple of days I thought that Eliot was maybe starting to look at specific things (lights, my face, etc.) instead of just staring off into the distance. So I've pulled out the play mat and the infant mobile in the crib. I'm not sure that she's really interested in these things right now but we'll keep trying!

Our friend Julie Furbush (former Tufts frisbee team member) came over to visit us the other night and took these excellent pictures of Eliot! She is a very talented photographer/designer and you can check out some of her other handiwork at her website - juliefurbush.com. We will have to invite her back so Eliot can really work on her modeling career!

Doctor's Appointment

We went to Eliot's 1 month doctor's appointment today. She's doing great! She's now up to 10lb 7.5oz (81%) and 22.5 inches (91%)! I knew she had gained a lot of weight because she's felt a lot heavier but I didn't realize just how much....The doctor and the nurse were all very impressed with how mellow Eliot was when she was getting examined and even when she got a shot.

Weekend!

We took advantage of the mild weather we've been having and took a long walk to Harvard Sq. today. Josh got to carry Eliot in the moby wrap. He got a lot of attention, especially from all the ladies who stopped to admire the baby (or was it the dad?).

We then gave Eliot a bath and I gave her a special hairdo! Very 80's punk we thought.

A month ago right now....

Eliot was born! What an exciting month this has been.

Today we went to visit our new friend Finley along with Aliza! We had babies of all sizes, small, medium and large!

And then she got a bottle from Daddy which she wolfed down quickly.

Eliot is four weeks old!

We can't believe it! Eliot is already four weeks old today. She's been such an easy baby so far. She's very mellow and doesn't cry or fuss much. Josh and I feel very lucky!

Swaddle and Bouncy Ball

Eliot really likes being swaddled, especially at night. Tonight we tried bouncing with her on the big exercise ball and she seemed to like that too.


After the bouncing, she spent some time catnapping on my lap.

Dr. Jekyll and Miss Hyde

Eliot is a pretty good baby but she still gets fussy, mostly when she's hungry and sometimes when she's tired. She can go from calm to hysterical in 0.5 seconds as demonstrated in these pictures.

Eliot is three weeks old!

Eliot is three weeks old today. She's getting bigger! She's been eating a lot more in the past couple of days and I can see her arms and legs really filling out.

She really likes being on her tummy, either in my lap or sleeping in her basket. I only let her nap on her tummy during the day when I'm watching her though.

She loves having Daddy time when Josh gets home from work.

And late at night, they're usually found snoozing in bed before Eliot goes into her basket for the night.

Busy weekend

We had a very busy weekend filled with a lot of activities. Some friends came over to see us, including little Henry Wu.

We went to visit another little friend, Aliza.

Eliot really likes her pacifier and lying on her tummy on my lap.

Eliot awake

Eliot has been spending more and more time awake the past couple of days. Yesterday, I think she was basically up for the entire day except for maybe a 2 hour nap. She then slept great during the night!

Eliot is two weeks old!

Eliot is two weeks old today. We went to the doctor's office for a quick weight check. She now weighs 8lbs 7oz! The doctor was very impressed with how much weight she's gained.


In addition to the two week milestone, we had Eliot's very first bottle tonight (also the first time Daddy's gotten to feed her) which went well.

Pictures from trip to Florida

We're back home now but here are some pictures from our little trip to Florida. Eliot got to sleep in a drawer for a crib, which worked out really well.

Eliot spent most of her time hanging out at the condo in the air conditioning but got to spend some time with Daddy when he was done playing at the end of the day.



We even took a little walk down to the beach.

Eliot is more alert these days. She is spending more and more time every day being awake.
